Response noted. However, I say again that, despite not RSVPing--because "maybe" is not a good answer--my boy and I have been up there a weekend after you've had one of these before. So, we /are/ "[two who] will". It's just a matter of timing.

It sounds like fun, don't get me wrong. But, I have a fear of falling IN water, and am not great at swimming due to that...so white water rafting is out for me. I don't think you'd want me to go either, due to the screaming I'd do and possible drowning ruining the fun. :) Now, if there's a boat that won't be pretty much 100% guaranteed to capsize at some point...lemme know. ;)

To alleviate your concern a little, you're half-submerged in the water in the tube all the time already, so it's a little like trying to fall off the floor. And you're required to wear a lifejacket, so there's no drowning.

But in any case, I can understand why any given individual might not be able to or be interested in participating. What I'm disappointed with is that out of over 500 people, not even one will. Again.

I wonder if it's something similar to when I try to get people to go biking with me. Perhaps they believe there's some skill involved, and they don't want to be embarrassed at not being as proficient as you, or to 'hold you back'. I can relate to your frustration.

You *know* that if I posted an invite to come over for free food, laying around playing Mario videogames (bring your own milk crate!), and getting drunk, I'd be swamped.

Sure! Maybe I should've actually posted it in my own LJ...

Tomorrow morning (6/13), before 10am at our place (we're meeting people there, so we need to leave on time) or between 10:30-11am at Butts Tubes. Bring river-wear, water shoes or other closed & disposable shoes, sunblock, and a big towel. Maybe a disposable hat for the sun and a fastener for glasses.

All our tubes are spoken for, so you'll need to rent a tube ($30 for the good ones). You can always buy one for cheaper on Amazon sometime. :)

While no one from any furry or game lists rsvp'd, X's brother and gf are coming with us, as well as four people from my workplace meeting us there, so it'll be a crowded trip.
